HDMI for simple AV connection

HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia
Interface. It is a direct digital connection that
can carry digital HD video as well as digital
multichannel audio. By eliminating the
conversion to analog signals it delivers perfect
picture and sound quality, completely free
from noise. HDMI is fully backward-compatible
with (Digital Video Interface) DVI.

SmartAlgo

SmartAlgo™ ensures quality recordings,
regardless of disc format or quality. Its
patented self-learning adaptive technology
chooses the optimal write strategy for the
particular disc that is being used. By doing this,
it significantly improves the reliability of the
recording, ensuring zero failures when
recording and guaranteeing playback
compatibility.

Progressive Scan

Progressive Scan doubles the vertical
resolution of the image resulting in a noticeably
sharper picture. Instead of sending a field
comprising the odd lines to the screen first,
followed by the field with the even lines, both

fields are written at one time. A full image is
created instantaneously, using the maximum
resolution. At such a speed, your eye perceives
a sharper picture with no line structure.

USB Direct

Simply plug in your device to the USB port on
your Philips DVD system and choose to either
playback directly from USB or to select your
digital music or photos and record these from
the device onto DVD for later playback. Now
you can share your favorite moments with
family and friends.

Record up to 12 hours

The 12-hour record mode available on specific
DVD recorder models lets you record up to
12 hours of video on DVD+R double layer
disc.

i.LINK digital input

Also known as IEEE 1394 and FireWire, i.Link
carries all audio and video signals via a single
cable digitally, with no loss in picture and sound
quality. With i.Link digital video input, you can
copy your home videos in their original digital
picture quality.

Dual Media

Philips DVD Recorders support ‘dual media’
recording - the ability to create recordings on
DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R DL
discs. Now you can buy any disc and the Philips
recorder will always create fully compatible
recordings, which can be played by any DVD
player.

Multi-format playability(DivX)

Multi-format playability allows you to play
most file formats for maximum listening and
viewing pleasure, including MP3, WMA, JPEG
and the popular DivX digital media format.
DivX playback enables you to play and share
compressed high quality DivX video content
beyond your computer.

VCR Plus+

With the VCR Plus+ system, all you need to do
to program your video recorder is to enter the
‘Pluscode’ – a single code of up to nine digits
(but usually less) that is printed next to each
TV program in most TV guides.
