Before first use

Remove all packaging materials and foils from the teapot and the base.

Place the base on a dry, flat and stable surface.

Note: Do not place the base near a hot stove.

Unwind the cord from the reel in the base until it has the desired length. Wedge the cord

into the slot in the base. (Fig. 4)

Rinse the inside of the teapot with hot water. If you want, you can use a soft brush and some

washing-up liquid (Fig. 5).

Do not immerse the teapot in water. Make sure the connector on the underside of the teapot

stays dry.

Rinse the filter and filter holder with hot water. If you want, you can use a soft brush and

some washing-up liquid (Fig. 6).

Note: Only the filter is dishwasher-proof.

Rinse the lid (Fig. 7).

Remove the lid of the teapot (Fig. 8).

Remove the filter from the teapot.

Fill the teapot with the desired amount of cold water. Make sure the water level is between

the MIN indication (250ml) and the MAX indication (700ml). (Fig. 9)

Note: Make sure that the underside of the teapot stays dry when you fill it. Hold the teapot under the

tap before you open the tap.
Note: Do not put milk, sugar or honey in the teapot.

Place the teapot on the base and put the lid on the teapot. Do not put the filter in the teapot

yet (Fig. 10).

Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket (Fig. 11).

Press the on/off button to switch on the appliance (Fig. 12).

, The quick-select buttons and the personal settings button light up.
Note: If the teapot is not on the base, the light ring lights up instead of the buttons.
Note: If you have already placed the filter in the teapot, the ‘remove filter’ light lights up to indicate that

you have to remove the filter from the teapot because it should not be in the teapot yet.

Decide what type of tea you want to brew.

- With one of the four quick-select buttons, which are preprogrammed with the ideal water

temperature and steeping time, you can brew black tea (1), green tea (2), fruit and herbal tea

(3) or rooibos tea (4) (Fig. 1).

Note: The tea logos on the quick-select buttons are trademarks of Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.

- With the personal settings button you can brew a type of tea that you cannot choose with the

quick-select buttons or you can brew tea at different settings than the preprogrammed settings.

When you use this button, you can adjust both the water temperature and steeping time

yourself with the increase and decrease buttons (Fig. 2).
