Microphone Preamplifier
Introduction
The Australian Monitor Installation Series PRE1 is a high quality, low cost mic
preamp, that is highly featured & simple to use. The AMIS PRE1 features
balanced XLR & unbalanced 6.35mm jack inputs & outputs, switchable 36
volt phantom power, gain control & signal clip LED. Powered by a
supplied 12VDC power supply, the AMIS PRE1 is an inexpensive mic
preamp & phantom power supply & as part of the AMIS Contractor Tools
range, has a multitude of uses in a wide variety of installations.
Description
• Jack/XLR Mic Inputs: These inputs can be either unbalanced
6.35mm jack or balanced XLR. Note Phantom power is available on
the XLR input only.
• Jack/XLR Mic Outputs: These can be balanced XLR or unbalanced
6.35mm jack outputs. Note the 6.35mm output jack can also be
connected to headphones for personal monitoring.
• 12VDC Power input: This input accepts power from the supplied
12VDC power supply. Note that the tip is Negative.
• Power LED: This LED indicates the unit is “on”
• Phantom Power On/Off: This switch enables 36 volt phantom power
to the XLR input.
• Clip LED: This indicates that signal level is too high & distortion may
occur
• Mic Gain: This increases the level of the microphone from the PRE1
