INSTALLATION AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing your American Fibertek 91600SL-262 Series singlemode sixteen
channel video multiplexer. Please take a few minutes to read these installation instructions in
order to obtain the maximum performance from this product.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The 91600SL-262 Series units operate as a transmitter / receiver pair for the digital
transmission of sixteen simultaneous NTSC or PAL video signals over one singlemode fiber
optic cable.
The RT-91600SL-262 transmitter can be expanded to accept up to fifty-six video inputs in seven
groups containing eight videos each. Correspondingly, the RR-94885SL receiver can be
expanded to output fifty-six independent video signals.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION AND CONNECTIONS
Please see the 95600SL Instruction Manual included with this unit for proper configuration and
connections to this unit. Following the guidelines found in the 95600SL Manual will allow for a
smooth transition to a fifty-six channel device at a future date.
SYSTEM STATUS INDICATORS
The system status indicators are the same for the 91600SL-262 Series units as for the 95600SL
Series units. Please see the 95600SL Instruction Manual included with this unit for an
explanation of these status indicators.
EXPANSION COMPONENTS
The 91600SL-262 Series units can be expanded by adding videos in blocks of eight per rack
card added to each end of the system. Please see the RT-95600SL COMPONENTS and the
RR-95600SL COMPONENTS sections of the 95600SL Instruction Manual for a complete listing
of the RT-980 and RR-980 rack cards available.
