1.3 Proprietary Product Description:

1.3.1 Construction:
Burke Rubber and Vinyl Stair Treads are
manufactured from either a proprietary Thermoplastic Rubber
(TP) or Thermoplastic Vinyl (TV) formulation designed
specifically to meet the performance requirements of ASTM
F-2169 Standard Specification for Resilient Stair Treads, Type
TP and TV, Class 2, Group 1 and 2. Several of Burke Stair
Treads are available with a 2" (5.08 cm) wide strip of
contrasting color to comply with A.D.A., Visually-Impaired,
and California Title 24 requirements. Standard formulation
exceeds ASTM E 648 Class 1 Flammability requirements.
Burke Thermoplastic Rubber and Thermoplastic Vinyl Stair
Treads are designed for interior applications only and not
recommended for environments where the product will be
exposed to animal fats, vegetable oils, or petroleum based
materials (e.g.: commercial kitchens).

Burke Rubber Maxxi-Treads (MRX):
Visually-Impaired
Thermoplastic Rubber (Type TP) Stair Tread with contrasting
colored nosing and cleats.
2” (5.04 cm) square nose configuration,
1/4” (6.35 mm) to 1/8” (3.17 mm) tapered 13” (33.02 cm)
tread depth surface.
Lengths:

3’ (.91 m), 3-1/2’ (1.07 m), 4' (1.22 m), 5' (1.52 m),

6' (1.83 m), 8’ (2.44 m) and 12’ (3.66 m).
Packaged 5 lengths per carton.

Burke Rubber Visually-Impaired Safety Treads (RXX):
Visually-Impaired Thermoplastic Rubber (Type TP) Stair
Tread with a 2” (5.04 cm) wide contrasting colored abrasive
safety grit strip.
1-5/8” (4.13 cm) square nose configuration,
1/4” (6.35 mm) to 1/8” (3.17 mm) tapered 12” (30.48 cm)
tread depth surface.
Lengths:

3’ (.91 m), 3-1/2’ (1.07 m), 4' (1.22 m), 5' (1.52 m),

6' (1.83 m), 8’ (2.44 m) and 12’ (3.66 m).
Packaged 5 lengths per carton.

Burke Heavy Duty Rubber Stair Treads (250):
Thermoplastic Rubber (Type TP) Stair Tread available with
1-5/8” (4.13 cm) square nose (HRS) or 1-1/2” (3.81 cm) round
nose (HRR) configuration,
1/4” (6.35 mm) to 1/8” (3.17 mm) tapered 12” (30.48 cm)
tread depth surface.
