5.6 Vibration test with superimposed thermal cycling under defined electric load

Following the tests, the requirements stated in section 3 still must be met.
Performance of test:
Procedure and performance in compliance with EN 60068-2-6
(formerly: DIN IEC 68 Parts 2-6)
Fastening of units under test:
The units under test are mounted to the vibration table with suitable holders. Cable and
hose connections and related attachments shall be appropriately fitted. Cable and hoses
shall be supported as permitted by the installation conditions without exerting an influence
on the unit under test.

Temperature profile:

Vibration load:
Duration: 72 h (24 h each plane)
Frequency sweep time: 1 octave/min., logarithmic
All 3 spatial planes are tested by clamping to a cube; 3 tone transmitters are mounted per
plane (reclamp after 24 h).
Amplitude of deflection: 3 mm constant in range 10 Hz to 13 Hz and 13 Hz to 10 Hz
Amplitude of acceleration: 20 m/s2 constant in range 13 Hz to 60 Hz and 60 Hz to 13 Hz
Electric load:
Signal: square-wave voltage, 0 V/10 V, 800 Hz
Time pattern:
1 min pulsing operation with pulse-to-pause ratio corresponding to obstacle detection at
distance of 1 m (= 75 ms 800 Hz, 294 ms pause)
1 min continuous tone 800 Hz,8 min pause.Then repeat cycle.
When the 72-hour vibration test with superimposed thermal cycling and electric loading is
complete, the test is continued as a thermal cycling test with electric loading, but without
vibration, until a duration of 320 h is reached.

5.7 Operation at low temperatures
This test is intended to simulate the operation of the speaker at low temperatures..
Test duration: 24 h Test temperature: -40

5.8 Operation at high temperature
This test is intended to simulate the operation of the speaker at high temperatures..
Test duration: 656 h Test temperature: +85

°C

After the test the performance requirements stated in section 3 must be met.
