SATA Configuration
While entering Setup, the BIOS automatically detects the presence of SATA
devices. The SATA Port items show Empty if no SATA device is installed to the
corresponding SATA port.
SATA Controller(s) [Enabled]
Allows you to enable or disable SATA devices.
Configuration options: [Enabled] [Disabled]
The following item appear when you set the SATA Controller(s) item to
[Enabled].
SATA Mode Selection [IDE]
Allows you to set the SATA configuration.
[IDE]
Set to [IDE] when you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as
Parallel ATA physical storage devices.
[AHCI]
Set to [AHCI] when you want the SATA hard disk drives to use AHCI
(Advanced Host Controller Interface). AHCI allows the onboard storage
driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features. This increases storage
performance on random workloads by allowing the drive to internally
optimize the order of commands.
IDE Legacy/Native Mode Selection [Native]
Allows you to select the SATA mode selection.
