The 1¼ x 1½ x 9½, 2 x 2½ x 7, 5 x 6 x 7 and 6 x 8 x 9½ pumps use a casing gasket instead of an
O-Ring to seal the pump casing.
Initial Gasket Installation (New Pump):
1. Inspect gasket to ensure that there are no creases or tears.
2. Inspect Motor adapter and Casing surfaces where gasket is to seal and ensure that surfaces
are clean.
3. Place gasket on motor adapter. It may be necessary to hold gasket in place with petroleum
jelly or gasket grease. Ensure the gasket is not creased and sets evenly on the motor adapter.
4. Place the casing on the motor bracket and tighten casing bolts.
Replacing the Casing Gasket:
1. Inspect gasket to ensure that there are no creases or tears.
2. Clean and scrap Motor adapter and Casing surfaces where gasket is to seal and ensure that
surfaces are clean, before the new gasket is installed.
3. Place gasket on motor adapter. It may be necessary to hold gasket in place with petroleum
jelly or gasket grease. Ensure the gasket is not creased and sets evenly on the motor adapter.
4. Place the casing on the motor adapter and tighten casing bolts.
