2000-2010 GM – Large SUV Air Shock Conversion
Air Shock Replacement
WARNING:
The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10
bar, or 150 lbf/sq. in). Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the
system. Always wear standard protec ve hand, ear, and eye
protec on when servicing the air suspension system
.
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist or with proper li ing equipment.
Suspension must be at full rebound with no load.
WARNING:
Always support the chassis on safety stands. Refer to
your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual for correct li ing instruc ons.
2. Remove both rear res.
3. Deflate both rear air shocks by disconnec ng the air lines
leading from the compressor assembly to the rear air shocks.
4. Using a floor jack, slightly raise the rear axle to relieve the
pressure from the upper and lower shock bolts.
5.
Disconnect dampening sensor lead.
6. Loosen and remove the upper and lower shock bolts.
7. Carefully remove the old shock absorber from the vehicle's
suspension.

1. Install the shock absorber’s retaining nuts and bolts to the
real axle. Tighten the shock absorber’s retaining nuts and

4. Replace both rear res and wheels. Tighten wheel hub bolt nuts
