Use the soldering iron on a heatproof workbench.
•
Place the soldering iron in its holder after use. Let a hot soldering
iron cool down naturally and do not immerse in water.

Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when
operating the device.
•
Keep this device away from rain, moisture, splashing and dripping
liquids.
•
Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually
using it.
•
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by
the warranty.
•
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an
unauthorised way will void the warranty.
•
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is
not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept
responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
•
Nor Velleman nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage
(extraordinary, incidental or indirect) – of any nature (financial,
physical…) arising from the possession, use or failure of this product.
4.
Operation
•
Make sure the iron tip is tightly fixed. Make sure that the available
voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of
this manual and connect the soldering iron to the mains.
•
Select the output power (30W or 60W) and let the soldering iron
heat.
•
Tin the iron tip by applying some rosin core solder. Heat the
connecting points (not the solder) and apply some solder to the
heated parts. Remove the soldering iron and let the solder cool.
Clean the tip after each solder job by briefly brushing the tip onto a
damp sponge.
•
Place the soldering iron in its holder, switch off and unplug from the
mains after use.
