3.2 Principle of operation
The VEGATOR 121 is a single-channel signal conditioning instrument
for level detection with level switches with 8/16 mA interface. Simple
monitoring and control functions can be realised via the integrated
relay. Typical applications are monitoring functions such as overfill and
dry run protection. An optional fail safe relay is also available.
The VEGATOR 121 signal conditioning instrument powers connected
sensors and simultaneously processes their measuring signals.
When the medium reaches the switching point of the sensor, the sen-
sor current changes. This is measured and evaluated by VEGATOR
121. The change causes the output relays to switch according to the
set operating mode.
