The player is in pause, slow-motion, fast forward or
reverse mode. Press the PLAY button to return to
normal play mode.
Check the volume control.
DTS sound cannot be decoded by this TV-DVD player.
Use an external digital decoder-amplifier connected
to the coaxial digital output or select another sound
type if available on the disc.
Make sure SPDIF output mode in set-up menu is
correct type according to instructions for external
digital decoder-amplifier, if you are using one.
Check connections to external amplifier.
Disc is in NTSC video standard and TV is completely
incompatible with it. Using the DVD set-up menu and
viewing the TV-DVD screen, set TV TYPE on
Preference page to PAL (to suit PAL television).

Problems Things to check or try
Power
System does not turn on, or
does not respond to controls.
Make sure AC mains plug is secure in the outlet, and
outlet has power.
Make sure main power switch is on.
Disconnect the main supply, wait 5 minutes and
re-connect. If the unit still does not respond,
disconnect the mains again and call a service
engineer.
DISC
Disc won't play
Make sure FUNCTION is set to DVD mode.
Make sure disc label is facing up.
Make sure disc is clean and not damaged. Try another
disc.
The region number of the disc doesn't match this unit.
If there has been a sudden change in temperature,
condensation may have formed on the laser pickup
lens. Open the disc tray and wait for it to dry out.
PICTURE
Picture freezes or has block
effects.
Make sure disc is clean and not badly scratched.
Vibration can cause the pickup to stop reading data.
Picture is all lines and
breaking up on external
monitor or television.
Picture has no colour on
external monitor or television
SOUND
No sound or very quiet sound.
REMOTE
Wrong functions, short range
Insert new batteries
Aim from straight in front of the remote sensor.
