MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
CONNECTING POWER - PLEASE BE SURE THE AC MAIN POWER SWITCH (LOCATED ON THE
BACK PANEL) IS SWITCHED TO THE ON POSITION.
You can power the system from a standard 120V or 230V AC outlet by using the supplied power cord.
230V OPERATION: Requires changing the voltage setting from 120V to 230V and obtaining an
adapter for appropriate the 230V service outlet to be used.
If you use 120V, please set the dual voltage selector switch at 120V; if using 230V, please set
the dual voltage selector at 230V.
Caution: The supplied AC power cord, has a polarized plug that fits into the wall outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit properly, turn it over and try again. Do not force it.
CONNECTION TO TV SET
In order to display song lyrics from CDG also to appear on TV screen, you must connect the included
video cable (yellow colored RCA single-plug) to the Video Output jack on the back of your SMG-299 unit.
Then connect the other end of the video plug (yellow) to the Video Input jack of the television. If your
television does not have the required Video Input, you will need an RF Modulator (Radio Frequency
Modulator), which connects through your TV antenna or cable line and serves as Video Input.

VIDEO SYSTEM SELECTION: For North America country, video selector is preset for NTSC. For some
European countries, video selector is preset for PAL.

CONNECTING AN AUDIO COMPONENT FOR INPUT
To connect another audio source (such as a Tuner, an A/V Receiver or a VCR) so you can sing along with
its music, simply connect the Audio Output jacks (Red & White RCA jacks) to the system’ s AUX IN R & L
jacks.
