The O STER ® Hand Mixer hasbeen designed to assistyou inpreparing

B URSTOF P OWER ®
F EATURE
The B URSTOF P OWER ® feature allows for an added boost to the selected speed
setting atthe press ofthe button. During especially heavy mixing tasks,
pressthe button to drive through the mixture with ease. Once the button is
released, the mixer willreturn to the original speed setting.
B EATER E JECT B UTTON
This O STER ® Hand Mixer features alarge and conveniently located beater eject
button. Thedesign allows for a smooth push of the thumb torelease the beaters
or dough hooks. Therewill not be a noticeable “click” .
B EATERS
The beater design allows for thorough, fastmixing
results for all types of batters. Thebeaters are
dishwasher safe.
D OUGH H OOKS
Use these hooks to knead bread dough, pizza dough
orother heavy batters and doughs. Use atlower speeds
for best results.
C OMFORT H ANDLE
The handle has been designed for comfort to prevent
hand fatigue during heavy orlong mixing tasks.
U SING Y OUR H AND M IXER
Before using your mixer for the first time, wash thebeaters in hot/soapy water ,
orthe dishwasher . Rinse and dry .
Be sure speed control is in the “OFF” or “0” position and unplugged from an
electrical outlet. Insert beaters one at a time, by placing stem end of beaters into
the opening drive holes on the bottom of the mixer . T urn beater slightly and
push in until beater clicks into position.
When using the optional dough hooks, thedough hook with the collar on the
stemfits into the larger drive hole (on the side of the mixer with the OSTER ®
name). The dough hook without the collar fits into thesmaller drive hole.
M IXING
Turn mixer on and refer to speed guide for correct setting. Slowly guide mixer
around sides and through centerof bowl, going in the same direction. Becareful
not to overbeat the mixture. Overbeatingtends to make some mixtures tough.
Whenever scraping of the bowl is required, stopthe mixer andscrape sides and
bottom ofbowl with a rubber spatula asneeded. T urn speedcontrol to “OFF”
or “0” and rest mixeron its heel rest while adding ingredients. Be sure to
position beaters over mixingbowl so anydrippings will fall back into
mixingbowl.
When mixing is complete, set speed control to “1” , and raisebeaters slowly from
batter to clean off clinging food. Besure to turn unit to “0” before raising
beaters completely outo fmixing bowl.

Feature

stems of the beaters with your hand and press the beater eject button. Beaters

1 Stir Use when stirring liquid ingredients or when mixing dry
and liquid ingredients together alternately ina recipe.
Use when preparing anyof the ready-prepared or
packaged instantpuddings.
2 Mix Use when a recipe calls for combining ingredients
together . Use forquick breads or muffins that require
abrisk action, just enoughto blend.
3 Blend Use when preparing cake mixes or for directions calling
for mediumspeed. Use tocream butter and sugar
together .
4 Beat Use when preparing a frosting from a recipe orpackage.
Usewhen whipping cream fordesserts.
5 Whip Use to mash potatoes to develop a light and fluffy
texture. Usewhen whipping egg whites.
Burst of Power ® During especially heavy mixing tasks, pressthe button
todrive through the mixture with ease.
C ARINGFOR Y OUR M IXER
C LEANING
Wash the beaters before and after every use. Beaters and Dough Hooks may
bewashed in a dishwasher . Afterremoving cord from electrical outlet, clean
mixer head with a damp cloth and wipe dry. DO NOT IMMERSE MIXER IN
WA TER. This maycause electric shock, injury , or damage tothe product.
Avoid the use of abrasive cleaners that will damage the finish ofyour mixer .
Themotor of your mixer has been carefully lubricated atthe factory anddoes
not require any additionallubricant.
S TORAGE
Store the hand mixer on its heel rest in a clean, dryl ocationsuch as a cabinet
orshelf. Store beatersin adrawer .
M AINTENANCE
Other than the recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be
necessary. If for any reason your hand mixer should require repairs, do not try
to fix it yourself. Sendit to the nearest Authorized Sunbeam Appliance
ServiceCenter .

E XTENSION C ORD U SE
Ashort power -supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may
beused if care is exercised in its use. If an extension cord is used, the electrical
rating of the cord must be atleast as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
