When finished using the Umbrella, make sure the Power Switch (4) is in its “OFF”
position. Turn the Crank (8) counterclockwise until the upper umbrella assembly is
completely closed.
Store in a dry place. For the next use of the Umbrella, allow the allotted time for the
Solar Panel to power up by setting it up in an area that has full sunlight. If the bat-
teries do not charge, replace the batteries with four NiCd Batteries (6). Dispose of
the used batteries properly. (See Replacing Batteries).
Replacing batteRies
Gently twist top of the Solar Panel (5), being careful not to damage the wiring. See Fig. 6.
Replace the batteries with identical NiCd batteries. Follow the symbols for the polarity
marked inside the battery housing.
Dispose of the old batteries according to the hazardous waste disposal guidelines
in your community.
