After the development of the ribbon tweeter the quest for even higher levels of audio
perfection continued and was rewarded in 2000 with the development of the first
coaxial ribbon system. The bar for quality in the loudspeaker market was raised once
more. We managed to combine tweeter and midrange in one unit and thus to form
one acoustic center. For the listener this means absolutely no interference and the
highest level of sound quality. A pity that we can‘t offer you a sound test at this point.
You would be delighted – unadulterated musical enjoyment. The coaxial ribbon
systems are built by our specialists with hours of painstaking craftsmanship in
precisely maintained climatic conditions at our factory in Horgen and thoroughly
tested. When it comes to quality, we leave nothing to chance.
New ways were also developed for the design of loudspeaker cabinets. The extrud-
ed aluminum cabinets are PIEGA innovations, finished to perfection with optimum
damping without any intrinsic sound.
Have you noticed the unique geometry of the individual series? Each of the new
shapes – trapezoidal, semi elliptical and C-shaped – offer individual acoustic proper-
ties and stand out for their interesting volume response. In one thing, however, there
is no difference between the series. All offer the same high level of quality. Most of
our standard products are finished in high quality aluminum. A black front grill is
included in the delivery as a cover in order to protect parts that are sensitive to
contact. Optional silver coverings are also available. Useful accessories such as
stands, cables and wall brackets are also offered on our website.
In this catalogue we are pleased to present three new products. After nearly ten
years, our previous flagship, the C 40, now has to transfer its leadership to the new
CL 120 X. At this point we can already assure you that it’s a powerful successor.
Kurt Scheuch and his team set about meeting the demand for “smaller and better”.
The result is a slim-line, elegant floor-standing loudspeaker with a coaxial midrange
tweeter ribbon. The minimum volume for a floor-standing loudspeaker of this quality
is compensated for by means of the coaxial ribbon system, the special bass chassis
and a recently developed frequency crossover. The third new product is a powerful
subwoofer, and more information on this is provided in the products section.
However, all new developments have the following top priority: the authentic and
highly resolved reproduction of each individual tone. Regardless of whether the
recordings were produced in the concert, in the recording studio or on the lawn, we
demand from our loudspeakers the highest audio quality, absolute resonance
freedom and unbeatable frequency linearity, and above all one thing – “music”.
Therefore don‘t be astonished if the imperfections of some well-known musical
greats are mercilessly exposed.
