WELD CABLE SIZE
Table A.1 located below are copper cable sizes rec-
ommended for different currents and duty cycles.
Lengths stipulated are the distance from the welder to
work and back to the welder again. Cable sizes are
increased for greater lengths primarily for the purpose
of minimizing cable drop.
** Tabled values are for operation at ambient temperatures of 104°F(40°C) and below. Applications above 104°F(40°C) may require cables
larger than recommended, or cables rated higher than 167°F(75°C).

• Turn the input power OFF at the
w e l d i n g p o w e r s o u r c e b e f o r e
installation or changing drive rolls
and/or guides.
• Do not touch electrically live parts.
• When inching with the gun trigger,
electrode and drive mechanism are
" h o t " t o w o r k a n d g r o u n d a n d
could remain energized several
seconds after the gun trigger is
released.
• Welding power source must be connected to
system ground per the National Electrical Code
or any applicable local codes.
• Only qualified personnel should perform mainte-
nance work.
