KRK monitors are used worldwide in small project studios and world-class mixing rooms. KRK’s are also found in numerous applications outside of recording,
including broadcast, corporate facilities and video post production. Whether you are a producer, engineer, musician or broadcaster -- KRK has products that fit your
style and your commitment to great sound.
The American Film Institute (AFI), founded in 1967, has been a quintessential force inspiring the exchange
of ideas between the entertainment and technology communities, especially in terms of “digital media”.
Intrinsic to “digital media” is high quality sound production, and this starts with quality monitoring
systems. Recently, AFI equipped 15 of their Editing Suites with 15 pairs of KRK Systems’ VXT4 studio
monitors after receiving a number of complaints from AFI Fellows about their previous speakers not
translating from one environment to the next. Editing Fellows at the AFI Conservatory are responsible to
post the sound on more than 80 films per year.
Currently riding a massive wave of millions of views on YouTube for the single “Tonight, Tonight,” the
band Hot Chelle Rae is destined for star status. Peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number seven
and now platinum “Tonight, Tonight,” offers bold, swaggering vocals, monster sing-along choruses,
crunching rock guitar and a propulsive rhythm section that just won’t quit. For on-the-go band member
Nash Overstreet (lead guitar/vocals), KRK VXT4s monitors save the day with accurate, portable reference
monitoring for projects in any acoustic environment or situation. According to Overstreet, “Having an
accurate mix/reference is crucial. Having monitors as small as the KRK VXT4s, which deliver great sound
WHILE being small enough to set up as studio reference monitors in a hotel room, green room or back
lounge of the bus is ideal.”
Daniel J. Levitin runs the Laboratory for Musical Perception, Cognition, and expertise at McGill University,
where he holds the James McGill Chair and the Bell Chair in the Psychology of Electronic Communication.
Before becoming a neuroscientist, he worked as a session musician, sounds engineer, and record
producer with artists such as Stevie Wonder and Blue Öyster Cult. He has published extensively in
scientific journals and music magazines such as Grammy and Billboard.
Talent, devotion and determination, you’ll find all three in Jacquire King. Born in Washington D.C., he
knew by the age of 18 that recording and mixing music was the only thing he wanted to do. Now he’s
worked in cities around the world and is a multiple Grammy-winning record producer and mix engineer
working with some of the biggest names in music business. Most recently he shared in a 2009 Grammy
Award for Record of the Year with producer Angelo Petraglia for the Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” from
the band’s release Only By the Night. He’s also worked with Tom Waits, Modest Mouse, Mutemath, Cold
War Kids, Norah Jones and Buddy Guy to name a few.
Over the past five years the Geffen Records Chairman has produced hits for Mary J. Blige, The Pussycat
Dolls, The Black Eyed Peas, and Keyshia Cole listening exclusively to KRKs. Fair tells us, “KRKs are the
benchmark for me. In production, in final mixes, in casual listening sessions: it all leads back to KRKs.
I have brought them to mix rooms, mastering rooms and living rooms in order to establish that what
I’m hearing — I’m hearing.” KRKs are refined, pristeen, and analytical, while at the same time kick
serious ass, impress the hell out of artists, dazzle the promotion staff and deliver an unforgettable sonic
impression.”
Sony Electronics, Inc. exhibits at key industry trade shows and events throughout the year. To best
showcase its concepts, products and technologies to customers, Sony relies on KRK VXT8 powered
monitors to provide accurate audio to properly demonstrate its latest products. In the past year, Sony
has depended on the superb quality of the VXT8’s at the CEDIA, CinemaCon and NAB shows in its HD
theater demonstration room for the SRX-R320 4K Digital Cinema Projector. Pristine performance is
critical at these events because those in attendance are the most discerning engineers from their fields,
influencing purchasing decisions. Accurate audio playback, sound quality, reliably and ruggedness of the
KRK VXT8’s allows Sony to portray its products’ capabilities in the most positive light.
Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry including
Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Beyonce to name a few. By the age of ten,
“Darkchild” knew he wanted to be a producer and began landing garage-style production gigs. He
entered a professional studio at the age of sixteen working with Patti LaBelle, and hasn’t looked back. In
1999, Jerkins won a Grammy with Destiny’s Child for “Say My Name”. He has produced music in a variety
of genres, from hip-hop and dance to country and gospel, and was a producer and mentor on season 10
of American Idol.
Celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year, legendary R&B group Boyz II Men redefined and
revolutionized the genre. The group has created some of the most celebrated songs and timeless classics
of the past two decades, and stands as one of the last truly iconic bands in the business. Their 13 Grammy
Awards are just the tip of the iceberg: throughout their 20-year career, Boyz II Men have also won a
whopping 16 American Music Awards, 9 Soul Train Awards, 3 MTV Awards, 3 Billboard Awards, and a
long-awaited 2012 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Composed of Nate Morris, Wanya Morris, and
Shawn Stockman, Boyz II Men remains the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 64
million albums sold. And for Boyz II Men the hits just keep on coming—the group will release an
exclusive 20th Anniversary Album and continues to tour across the world.
