The Cinema Ribbon Duo is
based on Sunfire’s research into not
only what we hear, but how we hear
it. The unique combination of a front-
firing ribbon and side-firing woofers
“fool” our brains into hearing an
enormous “sonic hologram”. To improve imaging, the Duos feature a
specialized ribbon tweeter with a narrow
vertical dispersion. On the center channels,
the ribbon is rotated 90° to produce a form-
factor that matches your flat panel display.
An “acoustic lens”restores proper horizontal
dispersion for this application. Sonic Hologram Imaging means that the
left ear will mainly hear the left speaker
and the right ear will mainly hear the right
speaker. This restores directional cues,
freeing the musicians from the usual flat
plane of sound between the speakers.
