Open the battery compartment >

Insert 4 x 1.5V batteries of the type "C/Baby/LR14" as per >
the insertion markings shown in the battery compartment g.
Pay heed to the correct poling of the batteries, otherwise the

device will not function and could even be damaged.
Close and secure the battery compartment

Leaking batteries can cause damage to the radio. If you do >
not intend to use the device for an extended period, remove
the batteries.
Switching the device on and off
To switch the device on, turn the > On/Off switch - sound
volume regulator i clockwise over a small resistance.
Press the respective button

MW = Medium wave >

to select the desired > frequency range .
For VHF reception, extend the telescope aerial >

to its full
length and then determine its best positioning.
For reception of the remaining frequency ranges, the radio is

fitted with a built-in aerial. To improve reception, if necessary
turn the radio until it is in the most favourable position.
Turn the transmitter calibration TUNING

to receive the
desired radio station. Use the station dial for orientation.
Select the desired sound volume using the
> sound volume
