Installation:
1. Chose a suitable location. Usually, the higher up a dummy camera is, the more authentic
it will appear.
2. Plug the optional AC power adapter into a power outlet, and run the adapter’s wire to where the
dummy camera will be mounted.
NOTE 1 - For a more professional and realistic appearancel, run the adapter’s wire through the
wall so the wire is hidden.
NOTE 2 - The battery compartment is not used. Do not install battery in the battery compartment.
3. Screw the mounting bracket into the bottom of the dummy camera.
4. Connect the adapter’s wire to the power connector of the dummy camera.
5. Hide the dummy camera’s BNC connector so no one can see that it is not connected to a
monitor.
NOTE - BNC connector is not used. For looks only.
6. Mount the bracket’s base to the wall, using the three included mounting screws. If the wall is
made of dry wall, brick, or similar material, it may be necessary to use the included plastic
screw anchors.
7. Do a final test of the dummy camera with the lights turned on and turned off.

How It Works
The SECO-LARM VD-10PL dummy camera is a great low-cost way to deter crime at home, in an
office, a parking lot, and around playgrounds. The dummy camera creates the perception of
electronic surveillance without the high cost, high maintenance, and upkeep of real CCTV
cameras, monitors and DVR's.
Unlike most dummy cameras, the IR LEDs of the VD-10PL turn on automatically when it is dark or
when the lights are turned off, and turn off when it is light or the lights are turned on.
Criminals are more likely to move on to an easier target if they know their activities may be
recorded.
Mix dummy cameras with real cameras to make the dummy cameras more believable.
