Electrical Connections
Pump and Motor
On the following corner units (Capella 55 with integral
skirt, Capella 60 with integral skirt and Tara with
integral skirt), a junction box has been provided. To
access, remove skirt access panel. See top views in
Rough-In section for location.
A dedicated and GFCI protected circuit is required for
pump/motor and is to be installed in the junction box.
The junction box is to be hard wired. The motor is
grounded to the junction box at the factory. J-Box (supplied)

Risk of electric shock. Connect only to a dedicated circuit protected by a GFCI.
When using electrical products, basic precautions should always be followed:
•
Always follow local building and electrical codes.
•
Grounding is required. The unit should be installed and grounded by a qualified electrician.
A separate, dedicated 120VAC, 15 Amp GFCI circuit is required for the pump/motor.
Risk of component overheat. Do not use electric extension cord to power this unit.
Operating the motor/pump without enough water in the bathtub can cause leaking and permanent damage.
Electrical outlets must be mounted 4˝ (101mm) above
the floor line, or in accordance with local building and
electrical codes.
- The pump/motor requires a dedicated 120 VAC, 15
AMP GFCI protected circuit. The electrical outlet is
not provided.
- Bonding lugs are provided on the heater and motor to
satisfy local electrical codes.
- At initial start-up, test GFCI units for proper operation.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions on proper use.
If the GFCI units indicate a malfunction, per manufacturer’s instructions, turn OFF power and do not use the
bathtub until the source of the problem has been identified and corrected by a licensed electrician.
The information provided below is applicable to all Jacuzzi
Luxury Bath units.
