Cleaning Shear

Use a good solvent to clean the jaw
assembly of the shear. Avoid getting sol-
vent on the plastic body of the shear as it
may damage the plastic. Always be sure
that the shear is dry before using it again.

Do not allow dust, chips, sand, etc. into the
air vent holes. This could lead to motor fail-
ure and premature bushing failure.

Never use use gasoline or other flam-
mable liquids to clean this tool.
Vapors in the tool may ignite, causing
the tool to explode. Ignoring this
warning may lead to serious personal
injury or even death!

Oiling Shear

Periodically oil your new Grizzly shear to

help maintain its useful life. Place one drop

of light machine oil in the shear jaws (as

shown in

Figure 5

) before every use. Wipe

off any excess oil to avoid dust build-up.

MAINTENANCE

Changing Brushes

Over time, the motor brushes will become

worn and loaded with carbon deposits.

This will dramatically lower the perfor-

mance of the electrical motor.

An extra pair of brushes has been includ-

ed. To change the brushes, unscrew the

small caps on the sides of the shear body

as shown in

Figure 6

.

Slide the old brushes out of the slots and

replace with the fresh set as shown in

Figure 7

. Screw the caps back into the

shear body and the shear is ready for use.
