CAUTION:
When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety instructions that should always be
followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product and save them
for future reference.
Your Cordless Telephone is designed to give you flexibility in use and high quality performance. To get the most
from your new cordless telephone, we suggest that you take a few minutes right now to read through this
instruction manual.
IMPORTANT:
Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should have at least one phone in your home that is not
cordless, in case the power in your home goes out.
CAUTION:
Always disconnect phone cords from the wall outlets before battery installation or replacement.
INSTALLATION NOTE:
Some cordless telephones operate at frequencies that may cause interference to nearby
TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To minimize or prevent such interference, the base of the cordless telephone
should not be placed near or on top of a TV, microwave oven, or VCR. If interference continues, moving the cordless
telephone farther away from the TV or VCR will often reduce or eliminate the interference.
Certain other communications devices may also use the 2.4 GHz frequency for communication, and, if not properly
set, these devices may interfere with each other and/or your new telephone. If you are concerned with interference,
please refer to the owner’s manual for these devices on how to properly set channels to avoid interference. Typical
devices that may use the 2.4 GHz frequency for communication include wireless audio/video senders, wireless
computer networks, multi-handset cordless telephone systems, and some long-range cordless telephone systems.

Your telephone equipment is approved for connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network and is in compliance with parts 15
and 68, FCC Rules and Regulations and the Technical Requirements for Telephone Terminal Equipment published by ACTA.

Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, among other information, the US number and Ringer Equivalence Number
(REN) for the equipment. You must, upon request, provide this information to your telephone company.
The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have all of these
devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum of the RENs of all devices connected to
one line should not exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices you may connect to your line as determined by the REN,
you should contact your local telephone company.
A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC
Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this product. It is
designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation instructions for details.

•
This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the telephone company.
•
Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore, you may not be able to use your own telephone equipment if you are on
a party line. Check with your local telephone company.
•
Notice must be given to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection of your telephone from your line.
•
If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation of this product
does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment, consult your
telephone company or a qualified installer.

Rights of the Telephone Company
Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone company shall, where
practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. Where prior notice is not practicable and the
circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company may temporarily discontinue service immediately. In case of such
temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1) promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance; (2) afford you the
opportunity to correct the situation; and (3) inform you of your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant to procedures set
forth in Subpart E of Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
The telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities, equipment, operations or procedures where such action is
required in the operation of its business and not inconsistent with FCC Rules and Regulations. If these changes are expected to affect
the use or performance of your telephone equipment, the telephone company must give you adequate notice, in writing, to allow you to
maintain uninterrupted service.

Use the # PAUSE button to insert a pause when a delay is needed in the dialing sequence (for example, when you
must dial a 9 to get an outside line or when you must enter codes to access your bank’s information line). Each
pause counts toward the 20-digit limit.
If you need to dial 9 to get an outside line and want to store a number in memory without having to dial 9 each
time, you would:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
2. Press the memory button.
3. Press any number (0-9) to store the phone number in that memory location.
4. Press memory again.
5. Enter the number 9 (or any other appropriate number) to access an outside line.
6. Press # PAUSE.
7. Enter the phone number you want to store in memory.
8. Press the memory button again to confirm.
TIP:
If you need a longer pause, press the # PAUSE button twice.

1. Make sure the phone is ON by pressing the TALK button.
2. Press the memory button.
3. Press the number (0-9) for the desired memory location. The number dials automatically.
IMPORTANT:
If you make test calls to emergency numbers stored in memory, remain on the line and briefly
explain the reason for the call to the dispatcher. Also, it’s a good idea to make these calls in off-peak hours, such as
early morning or late evening.

1. Make sure the telephone is OFF before you replace battery.
2. Remove the battery compartment door.
3. Disconnect the battery pack from the jack inside the battery compartment and
remove the battery pack from the handset.
4. Insert the new battery pack and connect the plug to the jack inside the handset.
5. Put the battery compartment door back on.
6. Place handset in the base to charge. If you don’t charge the handset battery
properly (for 12 hours) when you first set up the phone and/or when you install a
new battery pack, the battery’s long-term performance will be compromised.
CAUTION:
To reduce the risk of fire or personal injury, use only the battery listed
in the instruction book.
NOTE :
If the battery pack is not properly installed, the TALK button indicator blinks
when the handset is placed in the base cradle, and the handset will not operate.

released which can cause injury.
• To reduce the risk of fire or personal injury, use only the battery listed in the User’s Guide.

OLUTIONS
No dial tone
• Check or repeat installation steps.
• Make sure the base power cord is connected to a working electrical outlet.
• Make sure the base charge/in use indicator is lit when the handset is in the cradle.
• Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the back of the base and the wall phone jack.
• Disconnect the base from the wall phone jack and connect another phone to the same jack. If there is no dial
tone on the second phone, the problem might be your wiring or local service.
• The handset may be out of range. Move closer to the base.
• Make sure the battery is properly charged (12 hours).
• Make sure the battery pack is installed correctly?
• Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery pack. Then reconnect the power cord and reinstall the
battery pack. Place the handset in the base for 10 seconds to reset.
Handset does not ring
• Make sure the RINGER switch on the handset is turned ON.
• You may have too many extension phones on your line. Try unplugging some phones.
• See solutions for “No dial tone.”
Difficulty hearing on the phone
• Press the left and right arrow button on the handset to adjust the volume to the desired listening level.
You experience static, noise, or fading in and out
• Change channels.
• The handset maybe out of range. Move closer to the base.
• Relocate the base.
• Charge the handset battery for 12 hours.
• Make sure the base is not plugged into an electrical outlet with another household appliance.
Range is shorter than normal
• Press the chan button during the conversation to select a new channel.
Battery will not hold a charge
• Be sure you sufficiently charge the battery (for 12 hours), you can expect approximately 7 hours of talk time.
• Check to be sure the battery contacts on both the handset and the base make contact and are clean.
• When the handset is placed in the base, make sure the base charge/in use indicator is on.
Phone dials in pulse with tone service.
• Make sure the dial mode is set to TONE.
Phone won’t dial out with pulse service
• Make sure dial mode is set to PULSE.
Memory dialing doesn’t work
• Did you program the memory location keys correctly?
• Did you follow the proper dialing sequence?
• Make sure the tone/pulse setting is programmed correctly.
Unit locks up and no communication between the base and the handset
• Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery pack. Then reconnect the power cord and reinstall the
battery pack. Place the handset in the base for 10 seconds to reset.
• If a power outage occurs while the handset is away from the base, return the handset to the base when the
power returns.

How you get service:

Properly pack your unit. Include any cables, etc., which were originally provided with the product. We
recommend using the original carton and packing materials.

”Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which is evidence that the product is
within the warranty period, must be presented to obtain warranty service.” For rental firms, proof of first
rental is also required. Also print your name and address and a description of the defect. Send via standard

Use the flash button to activate custom calling services such as Call Waiting or call transfer, which are available
through your local phone company.
TIP:
If you press the TALK button to activate custom calling services such as call waiting, you’ll hang up the phone.

Most telephone systems use tone dialing, however, some may still use pulse (rotary) dialing. Depending on your
telephone system, set the dialing mode as follows:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
2. Press and hold the prog button until the unit beeps.
3. Press the * key to select TONE or the # key to select PULSE.
4. Press the prog button again. You will hear a confirmation tone.

This feature is useful only if you use pulse dialing service. Temporary tone dialing enables pulse (rotary) service
phone users to access touch-tone services offered by banks, credit card companies, etc. For example, when you
call your bank you may need to enter your account number. Using the temporary tone feature allows you to
temporarily switch to touch-tone mode so you can enter and send your number.
1. Press the TALK button, dial the telephone number (i.e. bank or credit card company), and wait for the line to
connect.
2. When your call is answered, press the *TONE button on your handset number pad to temporarily change from
pulse dialing to tone dialing.
3. Follow the automated instructions to get the information you need.
4. Hang up the handset and the phone automatically returns to pulse (rotary) dialing mode.

To find your misplaced handset:
1. Press the PAGE button on the base. The handset beeps, and the TALK button and charge/in use indicator
(base) blinks.
2. Press the TALK button when you locate the handset, or press the base PAGE button to stop paging. The page
signal beeps three times every two seconds for two minutes.
NOTE:
You can still page the handset when the ringer is off.

NOTE :
You must connect the handset battery before use.
1. Push down on the top of the battery compartment door and remove it.
2. Lift the battery pack and connect it's plug into the jack inside the compartment.
NOTE :
It is important to maintain the polarity (black and red wires) to the jack inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment by pushing the door up until it snaps into place.
4. Place the handset in the charging cradle.
NOTE :
If the battery pack is not properly installed, the TALK button indicator blinks when the handset is placed in
the base cradle, and the handset will not operate.

• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
• Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals, unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the
network interface.
• Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
• Temporarily disconnect any equipment connected to the phone such as faxes, other phones, or modems.
1. Choose an area near an electrical outlet and a telephone wall jack (RJ11C). Your phone should be placed on a
level surface, such as a table top or desk.
2. Plug the AC power converter into an electrical outlet and the DC connector to the back of the base. The
charge/in use indicator turns on to indicate the battery is charging.
CAUTION:
Use only the ATLINKS USA, Inc. 5-2616 (black) or 5-2617 ( grey) power converter that came
with this unit. Using other converters may damage the unit.
3. Allow the phone to charge for 12 hours prior to first use. If you don’t properly charge the phone, battery
performance will be compromised.
4. Plug the one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the back of the base and the other end into a
telephone wall phone jack.
5. Set the RINGER switch (on the handset front) to ON.
NOTE:
The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to pulse (rotary) dialing, see
“Tone/Pulse Dialing.” If you don’t know which type of service you have, check with the phone company.

NOTE:
For best results, leave the phone on a flat surface during initial charging before you hang the
phone on the wall.
1. Turn the base over.
2. Attach the wall mounting pedestal by first inserting the tabs on the open edge of the pedestal into the slots on
the lower portion of the bottom of the base. Then push down and snap the pedestal into place.
3. Slip the mounting holes (on the back of the base and pedestal) over the wall plate posts and slide the unit
down into place. (Wall plate not included.)

To use this phone you need an RJ11C type modular phone jack, which might look
like the one pictured here, installed in your home. If you don’t have a modular jack,
call your local phone company to find out how to get one installed.

Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to provide protection against false ringing, unauthorized
access, and charges to your phone line.
When you place the handset in the base, the unit verifies its security code. After a power outage or battery
