G6.1c
The G6.1c has a rear tweeter that can be
turned on or off. Driven out of phase from the
front tweeter, this makes the speaker a dipole
in the high frequencies, enhancing “air” and
soundstage and imaging when the speaker is
positioned away from a rear wall. When used
against a wall, in a
cabinet, or installed
behind a screen, the
rear tweeter can be
turned off.

Reviewers in the
audiophile press have
often remarked that the
Genesis tweeter is the
world’s best. This one-
inch circular planar
ribbon is crafted from
an extremely thin
membrane of Kapton
with a photo-etched
aluminum “voice coil”
that is a mere 0.0005
inches thick. Since the
entire radiating struc-
ture has less mass than
the air in front of it, the
tweeter will accurately
reproduce frequencies
beyond 35kHz.
We have designed a proprietary 5-inch
midrange to cover this critical frequency band.
Manufactured from pure titanium, one of the
lightest and stiffest materials known, our
low-mass cone driver is capable of nearly instan-
taneous transient response, enabling the G6.1c to
sound effortlessly lifelike.
Like our flagship Genesis 1.1 loudspeaker,
the tweeter and midrange of the G6.1c is
mounted on an ultra-rigid Corian platform.
This circular platform allows the tweeter and
midrange to be rotated by 45 degrees or by 90
degrees, enabling the G6.1c to be used either
horizontally or vertically.

OUPLERS
In order to deliver the vast dynamic range of a
live musical performance or a movie soundtrack,
the G6.1c uses two 6.5-inch mid-bass couplers.
Designed of extremely light and stiff aluminum,
the cones are capable of handling huge power and
transients, and yet maintain the extremely low
coloration that is the hallmark of Genesis.

ROSSOVER
Each crossover is designed by computer
modeling plus years of knowledge and experi-
ence. More importantly, the crossovers are
designed with many, many hours of music
listening, and constant refining, tuning and
tweaking of the circuit. Genesis uses its own
The G6.1c has an identical “voice” to the
G6.1 and the G6.1sr surround speakers, so you
can be assured of absolute fidelity™ for multi-
channel music, and consistency throughout the
surround matrix when playing movies. The
G6.1c is also the ideal choice as a center channel
for all existing Genesis loudspeaker systems.

ECHNOLOGY
Genesis has a 30-year legacy of technologies
that have been applied to the G6.1c design. In
addition, new technologies have been combined
to ensure optimal performance in the home
listening environment.
D
IPOLE
What many people do not realize is that the
room is as big a part of their music system as
are the loudspeakers. All rooms have floors,
ceilings and sidewalls that distort sound
because of lateral, early-arriving reflections
at the listening position.
Dipoles radiate the same waveform from both
front and rear in “push/pull” fashion. Thus, the
sound waves from the front and back of the
speakers cancel out as they radiate from the
sides and tops of the speakers; resulting in a
minimum radiation of sound to the sidewalls
of the room.
With fewer spurious reflections to confuse
hearing, imaging is more stable, sharply
focused, deeper, and spacious. Transients are
clearer, and sharper.
custom made capacitors and inductors. Some of
our finest capacitors use the best polypropylene
film and tin-foil technology available today. In
order for the G6.1c to have optimal bass response
from a relatively small cabinet, LC tuning has
been employed.
Some of the sonic magic that comes out of
Genesis loudspeakers is a result of this attention to
detail and use of exclusive designed components.

ONSTRUCTION
In order to achieve both the sonic quality
demanded by a Genesis product, as well as the
subtle elegance and understated beauty that we
sought to achieve, the cabinet sides were designed
with a complex curve. This makes the speaker
look slimmer than it actually is.
Vibrations from any surface on the speaker
can not only cause frequency anomalies, but also
time and phase distortion. Hence, the G6.1c
cabinet is made extremely rigid and very well
braced. Tongue and groove construction is used
throughout the cabinet, including the braces!
The front baffle, which provides the environ-
ment on which the transducers are mounted,
is made of a full two inches of MDF. In addition,
the tweeter and midrange are mounted on an
ultra-rigid Corian platform that can be user
rotated to 45 degrees or 90 degrees for either
horizontal or vertical placement.
