SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and
injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
2. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into
a 120V AC electrical outlet.
3. The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare
skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving
this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows,
bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the
front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
4. DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover cord with throw
rugs, runners, or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic area
and where it will not be tripped over.
5. CAUTION: ALTHOUGH THIS DEVICE IS PROVIDED WITH PROTECTION
WHICH REDUCES THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, THIS PRODUCT
SHOULD NEVER BE USED NEAR WATER.
6. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by,
or near children or invalids, and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
7. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
8. When unplugging, be sure to pull by the plug and not the cord.
9. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation
or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire,
or damage the heater.
10. DO NOT operate heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after
the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for examination,
electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
11. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside.
DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable
liquids are used or stored.
12. Use appliance only for intended household use as described
in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturermay cause fire, electric shock, or injury to
persons. The use of attachments not recommended or sold
by The Holmes Group may cause hazards.
13. DO NOT use outdoors.
14. To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block air intakes or exhaust
in any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where
openings may become blocked.
15. To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove
plug from outlet.
16. This heater is not intended for use with an extension cord.
Plug the cord directly into an appropriate wall receptacle.
17. If the heater will not operate, see specific instructions
on Auto Safety Shut-off.
18. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical
functions on this unit. Doing so will void your warranty. The inside
of the unit contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should
be performed by qualified personnel only.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ALCI (Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter) SAFETY DEVICE: This device provides protection
against electric shock due to ground fault currents by
automatically shutting off the power. To test the operation
of the ALCI Safety Device, switch the heater ON at either
the HI or LO setting. Press the TEST button on the ALCI
device attached to the plug end of the line cord. The heater
and fan should stop operating and the Power Light should
be extinguished. Press the RESET button on the ALCI device
to resume normal operation of the heater. This devise
should not be used as an ON/OFF operation switch.
CAUTION: ALTHOUGH THIS DEVICE IS PROVIDED WITH PROTECTION WHICH REDUCES THE RISK
OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NEVER BE USED CARELESSLY NEAR WATER.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SETTING THE TIME
1. The LCD Display screen will be flashing 12:00 when you plug
the unit into the electrical outlet for the first time.
2. You can set the time by pressing the hour and minute buttons
accordingly. The digits will stop flashing 5 seconds after you have
set the time and have stopped pressing the hour and minute buttons.
OPERATING THE HEATER
1. Press the Power / Mode button once and the display screen
will switch from the current time to read FAN. Press the Power /
Mode button again and the display will now read LO. Press the
Power / Mode button again and the display will then read HI.
The heater operates at 750 and 1500 watts in the low or high
settings. To turn the unit off, simply press the Power / Mode
button for a fourth time and the unit will be turned off.
SELECTING DESIRED TEMPERATURE
1. By turning the rotary knob located at the top right side of the
heater you will be able to adjust the thermostat. As the rotary
knob is turned the temperature will be reflected on the display
screen simultaneously. Stop turning the knob when your desired
temperature level has been achieved.
SETTING THE HEATLOGIC PROGRAM TIME:
1. Press the SET button. The display will switch from the current time
to flash the digits 12:00.
2. Press the HOUR and MINUTE buttons until your desired operating
time has been reached. The display will return to the current time
after you have completed setting the HEATLOGIC time.
TO ACTIVATE THE HEATLOGIC PROGRAM TIME
1. To activate your heater at the specified time that has been set,
simply press the HEATLOGIC button once. A light in the display
screen will be turned on, indicating that the heater is now in
HEATLOGIC mode and will turn on automatically at the preset time.
PLEASE NOTE: The heater will operate in the HI 1500 watt setting
only, when operating in the HEATLOGIC mode.
SETTING THE SAFETY SHUT DOWN TIME:
In the HeatLogic mode you have the ability to choose the amount
of time the heater will operate before automatically turning off.
1. Hold the SET button down for 5 seconds. The number 30 will appear
on the display screen indicating the number of minutes the heater
is currently set to operate in the HEATLOGIC mode.
2. To change from 30 min, hold SET button and display will change
to 45. If you continue to hold the SET button the display will
change to 60, then to 15.
3. Release the SET button when you have determined the amount of
time you would like the heater to operate in the HEATLOGIC mode.
PLEASE note that the ability to select an operating time is only available
when the HEATLOGIC mode has been activated.
During Season Care:
Always unplug the heater, before moving or cleaning.
1. Carefully wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Please
be very cautious near the motor and heating elements.
2. After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the unit with
a cloth or towel.
After Season Care:
1. Store heater in a cool, dry location.
2. Holmes recommends that you store the unit in its original carton.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If your heater fails to operate:
• Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working.
• Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction turn the heater
OFF, and unplug the unit. Carefully remove the obstruction and
follow the reset instructions.
• The thermostat might be set too low. Turn the thermostat knob
clockwise until the heater restarts.
• Make sure selector is in LO or HI setting.
Please DO NOT attempt to open or repair the heater.

AUTO SAFETY SHUT-OFF
This heater is equipped with a patented, technologically-advanced, safety
system that requires the user to reset the heater if there is a potential
overheat situation. When a potential overheat temperature is reached,
the system will automatically shut the heater off. It can only resume
operation when the user resets the unit.
To Reset the Heater:
1. Press the Power/mode button until off is displayed in the LCD screen.
2. Unplug the heater and wait 10 minutes for the unit to cool down.
3. After the 10 minutes, plug the unit in again and operate normally.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully remove your heater from the box.
(please save the carton for off-season storage).
2. Place heater on firm level surface.
3. Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high wattage
appliances in the same outlet. At 1500 Watts, this unit draws
12.5 Amps.
