The John Deere L Series Lawn Tractors use Briggs & Strat-
ton and Kohler engines. These engines provide plenty of
power and torque to handle tough mulching, mowing, and
bagging conditions.
The L100 features a 17 hp Briggs & Stratton Anti-Vibration
System (AVS) single-cylinder engine:
• Electronic ignition for fast starts.
• Cast-iron sleeve for long engine life.
• Overhead valves for excellent power and fuel economy.
The L108 features a 18.5 hp Briggs & Stratton Anti-Vibra-
tion System (AVS) single-cylinder engine:
• Electronic ignition for fast starts.
• Cast-iron sleeve for long engine life.
• Overhead valves for excellent power and fuel economy.
• Full-pressure lubrication and oil filter keep oil cleaner
for long engine life and extends time between oil
changes. Full-pressure lubrication is also more effec-
tive when operating the tractor on an incline.
The L111 features a 20 hp Briggs & Stratton V-twin engine:
• V-twin cylinder design for greater torque, lower vibra-
tion, and improved sound quality.
