Using the SB-500 as a master flash unit
Set the SB-500’s power
switch to [ ].
Make settings with the
camera.
• Choose [Commander mode]
under [Optional flash] from
the camera menu and make
settings.
• For details, see the camera user’s
manual.
• Mode indicator lamp [CMD]
comes on when settings are
made with the camera.
Confirm that the flash-
ready indicator is on,
and then shoot.
