11.3 Stopping
NOTE: Before starting the engine, disconnect all loads from the generator.
1. Turn the AC circuit breaker to the OFF position.
2. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
3. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position.
Emergency stopping: Turn the engine switch to “OFF”. The engine will stop
immediately.
11.4 Operating time
Depending on the type you’re using, if you start with a full tank and let it run continuously, your
generator will run approximately :

The Petrol level display on top of the fuel tank shows you approximately how much petrol
there is left in the tank.
11.5 Ground system
This generator has a ground system that connects the generator frame components to the
ground terminals in the AC output receptacles. The system is not connected to the AC neutral
wire.
11.6 High altitude operation
At high altitude, the standard carburettor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich.
Performance will decrease, and fuel consumption will increase.
High altitude performance can be improved by installing a smaller diameter main fuel jet in the
carburettor and readjusting the slow tempo screws. If you always operate the generator at
altitudes higher than 1,500 m (5,000 feet) above sea level, have your dealer perform these
carburettor modifications.
Even with suitable carburettor jetting, engine horsepower will decrease approximately 3.5% for
each 300m (1,000 feet) increase in altitude. The effect of altitude on the horsepower will be
greater than this if no carburettor modification is made.
Operation of the generator at an altitude lower than the carburetor is jetted
for may result in reduced performance, overheating, and serious engine
damage caused by an excessively lean air/fuel mixture.
12 MAINTENANCE/CLEANING
12.1 The importance of maintenance.
Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical and trouble-free operation. It will also help
reduce air pollution.
NOTE: Before cleaning or maintenance of the generator, you must switch off the motor and
allow the equipment to cool down!
CLEANING: For cleaning the housing, please use only a lint-free cloth dampened with a
solution of soapy water (solution of washing-up liquid). During cleaning, no water should
penetrate the inside of the generator.
