NOTE: This is a balanced amplifier and you should NEVER
connect either output to a ground point! Doing so
may cause damage to your amplifier and connected components which will likely require service.
The binding posts that you will find on the MC amplifiers allow many different methods of connection.
Each binding post is made of gold plated solid brass. Both sides of the clamping nut are built out of one piece,
and offers excellent grip. The binding post will accept 4mm banana plugs, spades of 6 and 8mm, and crimped
cable ends up to 10 AWG in size. The easiest connection is made with banana plugs, but be sure that you use the
highest quality that you can find. Make sure that the banana plugs fit snugly into the terminals. Some inexpensive
banana plugs can cause a highly resistive connection which can result in a noticeably higher distortion output to
the connected speakers.
The RCA (unbalanced) jack is made with high quality gold plated copper, and should be properly
connected with interconnects of the same value. The Neutrik XLR (balanced) connectors are the finest balanced
connector on the market, and are the best possible option for connecting your amplifier to your preamplifier
.
Using the new W4S power and interconnect cables would be a great way to ensure your system is closer to what
we call “our reference”. We are now offering superior cables at an affordable rate that anyone can afford. For
more information, please visit the web-site, or send an email to

One of the benefits of the MC series is the input buffer. The position of the rear panel switch is extremely
critical. Undesirable sound can be obtained from any of the switches being in the incorrect position. To
eliminate any switches in the signal path, both inputs are connected at all times. When the XLR / RCA switch is
pushed in, the RCA should be used. If RCA’s are being used, and the switch is in the XLR ground lift position,
you can expect a narrow sound stage, higher distortion, and poor imaging. The input buffer helps your preamp
drive your amplifier with ease. What happens with our competitors units is that the input signal becomes hard to
drive, and some sources start to clip at that point. The signal that causes the most “stress” is what will end up
being chopped up, or incomplete. When this happens, there is signal (information) that is being lost in
transmission.

The High pass feature is available on the Front R & L channels, and adds a ton of flexibility. If you want
to eliminate low frequencies to your front channels, or would like to Bi-amp, we make it easy. You can use 1
multichannel amplifier to Tri-amp a set of your speakers if so desired. The high pass filter is set at 80Hz and 12
db per octave. If you have specific needs that are not standard, we can tailor any crossover point and any rate.
