Quad Loop Extender
Two-Position Remote Chassis
The Soneplex Quad Loop Extender (QLX) Two-Position Remote Chassis is part of ADC’s cost-
effective solution for T1-based service delivery. The Soneplex platform supports DS1 network
interfaces on either copper or fiber using HDSL, HDSL2, HDSL4, traditional T1 repeater or optical
DS2 technology in a single platform. Integrated network management lets carriers save on overall
operations costs through the entire system lifecycle.
The QLX Two-Position Remote Chassis is installed at the customer premises for termination of up
to four protected or unprotected DS1 circuits via one or two optical DS2 circuits. The unit houses
up to two QLX modules and an optional alarm processor unit and craft performance monitoring
module for remote alarming, performance monitoring and local craft access. One QLX module is
deployed for unprotected applications; two QLX modules are used for 1+1 protection. The Two-
Position Remote Chassis mounts horizontally in a 19” or 23” rack, occupying only a single rack
space and operates on –48 VDC, making it ideal for collocation or PCS/cellular applications. RJ45
connectors or wire-wrap pins make DS1 connections simple.
Features:
• Supports one protected or unprotected optical DS2 circuit for up to four DS1s
• Horizontal rack mount chassis occupies a single rack space
• Remote alarm capability for major, minor, critical and eight housekeeping alarms
• Local craft interface for remote access to performance monitoring information
• Operates on –48 VDC
