Using the Handset Display Buttons
The T7406 handset has a three-line display.
The three display buttons located under the display are used to interact with the handset menus and
the feature code messages that appear on the display..
•
The first line of the display shows handset messages and menu items.
•
The second line displays button labels in capital letters.
•
The third line displays the antenna/signal strength icon indicates when the handset is within
range of the base. As well, the battery icon shows the status of the battery.
Button Mapping on the Handset
When you have completed the steps in
“Handset Configuration” on page 16
, then, you can map the
feature buttons on your set.
The handsets have six feature buttons. These buttons can be programmed by your system
administrator. You can also program the buttons from your handset. The following section
describes the usual mapping of the buttons, based on the M7310 telephone button mapping.
The illustration below shows examples of the default button mapping for the handset.
The following three illustrations show the correlation between the T7406 handset buttons and the
M7310, T7316 and T7316E telephones, which are standard telephones used for Norstar and
Business Communications Manager systems. For more information, refer to
