A new group cannot
be created. • This is due to the MiniDisc system limitations (in MD mode only).
Group information has been written to the area where the disc name is
stored. The disc name and track names are recorded in the same area,
which can store a maximum of approximately 1,700 characters. If the
total number exceeds this amount, it is impossible to make group
settings.
While the recorder is connected to the computer
Symptom Cause/Remedy
The recorder is not
recognized by the
computer. • The dedicated USB cable is not firmly connected.
, Connect the dedicated USB cable firmly to the recorder and the
computer.
• A USB hub is used.
, Connect the dedicated USB cable directly to the USB port of the
computer.
• Network communication has failed.
, Disconnect the dedicated USB cable, wait at least 2 seconds, and
then reconnect it. If the recorder is still not recognized, disconnect
the dedicated USB cable, restart the computer, and then connect
the dedicated USB cable again.
• When using Windows 2000 Professional, you turned on or restarted the
computer while the dedicated USB cable was connected, and then
disconnected it afterwards.
, Disconnect the dedicated USB cable, restart the computer, and
then reconnect the dedicated USB cable. This problem may be
resolved by updating your Windows operating system so that it
contains all the latest features.
Charging by USB bus
power cannot be done

• The battery compartment lid is not firmly closed.
, Reinsert the rechargeable battery and close the battery
compartment lid firmly.
• The temperature of the battery-charging location is too low or too
high.
, Charge the rechargeable battery within a temperature range of

power. • The rechargeable battery is charged through USB bus power.
, USB bus power only charges temporary and cannot charge the
rechargeable battery sufficiently. Disconnect the recorder from the
computer and charge the rechargeable battery using the AC power
adaptor.

recorder is recognized
by the computer, it
does not operate
normally. • A USB hub is used.
