Hearing English Words
This dictionary can pronounce English words
that appear on almost any screen - in
definitions, thesaurus entries, spell correction
lists, My Vocabulary List, confusables and
games. When you want to hear how an English
word is pronounced, just highlight it and press
.
To adjust the volume, turn the volume control on
the side of the unit. You can plug headphones
into the headphone jack which is just above the
volume control. Try this example.
1. Press MENU.
2. Press BOOKS.
You can also press or until you reach
the Books menu.
3. Use or to highlight English
Thesaurus, then press ENTRER.
4. Type an English word (for example,
ptarmigan).
5. Press to hear it pronounced.
6. Press ENTRER to see its entry.
