Based on an embedded architecture, utilizing a FreeScale MPC859 CPU and
eCOS Operating System, the IS provides the following features:

1.4 Configuration
The IS enables MPEG-2-based content (video, audio and data) to be scrambled using the
Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) Common Scrambling Algorithm (CSA) over an
Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) carrying transport streams while removing
unwanted programs.
The IS is designed for integration with any Conditional Access (CA) system supporting
an Ethernet SimulCrypt Interface. The capabilities of the IS are depicted in Figure 1-2.
