3. Hoists – 208/230/460 Volt Wiring

a. Connect wires from control panel into winch. Note lettering on wires; see table below

for wiring instructions.

b. Verify wiring of winch is correct for voltage present.

c. Verify wiring of brake motor to winch is correct.

Phasing of winches: The direction of the hoist is determined by the way in which they are wired. If
after wiring either or both winches operate in the direction opposite the intended direction, just swap
any two of the wires at the motor starter (example: unhook T1 and T3, hook former T1 wire to T3
terminal and visa versa). Motor direction should be verified by looking at the direction of the limit
switch rod inside the back of the hoist. Rod should travel away from motor when hoisting is running in
'up' direction.
