Holding the cabinet on both sides, carefully lift it
off the unit.
Oiling the Fan Motor
^WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power cord from receptacle before
oiling motor. Failure to do so could result in
personal injury.
1.
Remove unit from cabinet. (Follow instructions
under “Do-It-Yourself Maintenance.“)
2.
Oil the fan motor following instructions on the fan
motor. To add oil, pull out the oil hole plug at each
end of the motor. Use SAE number 20 non
detergent oil or an easy to use one-ounce capsule
of specially recommended oil can be ordered
from your dealer. (Part no. 10943).

Wrap the motor, electrical control box and
compressor terminals box in plastic film and
make
sure no water or other liquid gets inside any of
these parts.
It would damage insulation and cause
serious mechanical problems.

Personal Injury Hazard
The metal fins on the coils are sharp. Handle the
air conditioner with care. Failure to do so could
result in personal injury.

Carefully clean and hose out the base, coils and
condensate pans. Clean at least once a year, or
more often if the condenser coils and pans collect
dirt, sand, leaves, insects or algae. Also, clean if
you detect an odor coming from the air conditioner.
(A good time to oil the motor is when you already
have the cabinet open. See instructions that
follows.)

Replace the plugs to keep dirt from motor bearings.

Replace unit In cabinet.

Remove plastic flim from motor and electncai
parts.
10.
Repiace unit in cabinet.
11. Reattach ground wire. Repiace controi piate and
knobs.
12.
Repiace front panei.
NOTE:
it is best to wait 24 hours before starting the
unit again. This aliows aii areas to dry out. (The water
from rainfail or from normai operation does not harm
these components.)
