STEP 2
Remove any grease or debris from the horn and ignition
covers with soapy water and a clean rag; rinse and allow
the area to dry completely. PIC 1 and PIC 2 Clean the area
with the included alcohol cleaning pad to remove any
residue; allow the area to dry completely.
Ensure the area of installation is free of grease,
oil, dirt or other debris including wax/polish
products and bugs to ensure proper adhesion.
Küryakyn WILL NOT issue a warranty on any
parts lost due to improper installation.
The adhesive will not bond correctly if applied at
temperatures less than 50°F. Do not attempt
this installation in temperatures less than 50°F.
STEP 3
Test fit the Smooth “V” Accent to the chosen cover. Make
any
reference
marks
with
a non-permanent marker or
masking tape. Rub the backing on the adhesive strip to
activate the adhesive before applying. Remove the paper
backing. Press the Smooth “V” Accent into place for
1 minute to ensure proper adhesion. Full bond strength will
occur within 24 hours. Repeat for the other cover.
If the motorcycle is to be operated before the
24 hour cure time has expired, use a good
quality masking or painter’s tape over the Accent
to assist in holding the Accent in place until the
cure time is over.
STEP 4
Wipe the emblem area with one of the included alcohol
pads.
STEP 5
The Emblem has a locating pin and a hole (PIC 3) that will
place it in the hole and over the pin on the Smooth “V”
Accent. Rub the backing on the adhesive to activate it. Peel
the backing off the emblem. Place the locating pin in the
location on the Accent. Press firmly for one minute. Full
bonding will occur in 24 hours.
