Master-Affiliate Clip Properties
Most clip properties reside in a master clip, and all the affiliate clips simply use the
properties stored in their master clip. Other properties are stored in a clip’s media file. For
a detailed description of each of these properties, see “
Clip Properties ” on page 916.
Master Clip Properties
The following clip properties are stored in a master clip, and these are shared between
the master and all its affiliate clips. If you change one of these properties, it changes in
all affiliate clips.

Note: The Reel name property is also stored directly in a clip’s media file, so even if you
delete the clip, this property can be restored by importing the media file into
Final Cut Express HD.
