When power comes back suddenly af-
ter a power failure, then the plant can
get switched on in an uncontrolled man-
ner. Hence, when there is power fail-
ure: Switch off the plant.
The plant should not be operated in
rooms that run the risk of explosions.
This excludes only the plants that are
explicitly meant and earmarked for the
same.
Please read the corresponding EC
Safety data sheets carefully before han-
dling the respective sterilisation agents.
Refill only sterilisation agents of the
same type in the storage container of
the plant.
While changing the sterilisation agent
type or if the sterilisation agent tank
contains unknown chemicals:
Carefully empty the sterilisation agent
tank and hose and rinse them with wa-
ter before filling the sterilisation agent.
Chemicals for waste water treatment
can cause skin irritation; there is also
the risk of serious damage to the eyes.
Therefore: do not eat, drink or smoke
and wear safety gear:
– Hand protection: Rubber gloves
– Eye protection: Safety goggles
– Protection for body: Safety suit and
gumboots (if required)
Safety instructions on the packaging la-
bels; follow the product information
sheets and EC safety data sheets.
Store chemicals for waste water treat-
ment out of reach of children in order to
avoid risks such as:
– Poisoning
– Irritation
– Burns due to fire
Ensure proper ventilation while han-
dling chemicals.
Do not drink the water emitted from the
plant. The water is not potable even if
the impurities have been filtered out.
Carry out instructions and measures ac-
cording to BioStoffV.
After skin contact:
Immediately rinse with water; then clean
with soap.
After coming in contact with eyes:
Rinse with water immediately (15 minutes);
consult the doctor.
After swallowing in:
Immediately rinse the mouth with lots of wa-
ter or drink lots of water (see EG safety data
sheet); do no induce vomitting; consult a
doctor.
After breathing in:
Breath in fresh air; clear the respiratory
path.
To avoid danger through false opera-
tion, the plant must be operated only by
persons,who
– are instructed in its operational han-
dling,
– have proved their capabilities in respect
of operation,
– have been explicitly commissioned to
use it.
These Operating Instructions and the
Safety Instructions must always be ac-
cessible to the Operations staff.
