Entering Text Using the QWERTY
Keyboard
Your device has a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The
keyboard is located beneath the display screen and is
accessed by sliding it open. This orients the device's display
to Landscape (widescreen) mode. With the QWERTY
keyboard, you can type letters, numbers, punctuation, and
other special characters into text entry fields or other
applications as easily as on your computer.
To open the device and access the keyboard:
1. Rotate the device 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
2. Slide the top section of the device up to open, as
shown in the adjacent illustration. When you slide it
open, the display rotates to a horizontal viewing mode
(Landscape).
Using the QWERTY Keyboard
In this section we’ll cover the steps necessary to enter text
using the QWERTY keyboard. Using your device's QWERTY
keyboard is just like using any standard computer keyboard.
The following keys perform special functions when entering
text:
Alt: Allows you to use the alternate
characters displayed at the top of the
QWERTY keys. Examples: -), +, @, #, etc..
Shift: Changes the text input mode among
Upper/Lower/Mixed case mode.
Sym: Allows you to insert a symbol by
providing you with an on-screen page of
