5.6 Special functions

5.6.1 Economy – Wear reduction program
With analogue control, actuator wear is reduced by the adaptive hysteresis band (refer to
7.4.1.2 General information about these Operating Instructions).
With 3-point control, the control signals are converted with a time delay of one second.
Several small control signals (<1 s) in the same direction are cumulated and executed with
half an increment (0.5 s) as soon as the resulting motor running time is more than one
second.

5.6.2 Cyclic operation after a reset or when the power is returned after a power
failure
If the Economy switch is set to "On", the actuator is operated with a travel time of 2 seconds
and an interval time of 8 seconds until the desired position is reached or overtravelled after
you press the Reset button or when the power is returned after a power failure.

5.6.3 Adaptive hysteresis band
The adaptive hysteresis band is applied to the analogue input signal Yin in order to reduce
the wear on the valve and the actuator.
The factory setting for the hysteresis band is ±0.5%. If the Yin control signal moves out of
the current position within this band, the change is ignored. The actuator is only corrected if
the deviation is larger.
If the Yin signal changes direction beyond the current hysteresis band more than five times
within one minute, the band is widened and the next larger step is set.

If the Yin signal specifies fewer than six direction changes within one minute, the next lower
step is set.

There are six possible hysteresis steps:
