12 Troubleshooting
This chapter outlines solutions for situations you may encounter while using HP OneView for RHEV.
Host information does not appear after discovery
You may experience problems during discovery of an OA or iLO, or you may find that information
for the device does not appear.
Suggested action
To view the OA or iLO discovery information:
1.
Click the HP OneView button at the top of the RHEV window.
2.
Click Newsfeed to view any error messages regarding discovery.
Error message: Exceeded the maximum number of SSO certificates
Suggested action
Select one of these solutions:
•
Delete one or more of the existing certificates from the OA and initiate discovery again, or
•
Deselect the Discovery option to use single sign-on, then initiate discovery again.
Discovery error message: Failed to import the certificate
Suggested action
Select one of these solutions:
•
Delete one or more of the existing certificates from the iLO and initiate discovery again, or
•
Deselect the Discovery option to use single sign-on, then initiate discovery again.
Unable to receive SNMP traps
In order to receive SNMP traps, the iptables settings must be adjusted to allow UDP port 162
through the input firewall.
Suggested action
Add the following line to the INPUT section of /etc/sysconfig/iptables:
-A INPUT -p udp -m state --state NEW -m udp --dport 162 -j ACCEPT
Certification error is generated during installation
If the HP OneView for RHEV dependent product hpcs (hpcs-7.4.0.x) is uninstalled, then the
HP OneView for RHEV database must be manually deleted before installing a new version of HP
OneView for RHEV. If the database is not deleted prior to installing a new version (or reinstalling
the same version), a certification error will be generated.
Suggested action
The following script can be used to back up and delete the database:
$ sh /opt/hp/hpcs-7.4.0.*/db_uninstall.sh
