1.0 DESCRIPTION
The Detcon Model 972-071170-0LC is a 117VAC powered gas detection system that provides a remote gas
sample to two independent sensor assemblies. The sensor assemblies, discussed in the attached sensor
manuals, are specified at time of order as to gas and range of detection and other options. The NEMA 7X
rating is by definition explosion proof and therefore is suitable for outdoor location in electrically haz-
ardous environments.
The enclosure houses a 24 VDC power supply, flow pump and flow fault detection circuit. A mother-
board provides lugless field wiring terminals which, depending on the type of sensors used, include
options for: 117 VAC power input, 24 VDC battery backup power input, 4-20 mA signal output and alarm
relay dry contacts. Internal panel mount fuses are provided for VAC and VDC power.
A power switch, power indicator lamp and a flow fault indicator lamp are mounted on the hinged door.
Externally mounted flow controls include a selector valve for sample and calibration and a flow meter with
adjustable valve. An externally mounted moisure filter is provided for the gas sample input.
1.1 INSTALLATION
1. Securely mount the enclosure in accordance with the drawing below.
