Affected Models: All 17,19,21,22060S/D/A, D/R344, 404, 405, DSP/RSP40, DSH/RSH40, 44, 23105S/D
When Dana designed in “Thick Flange” carriers in the models listed above, carriers sold thru service-included production
mounting hardware (carrier to housing fasteners) unique to the “Thick Flange” design. This plan was adopted by Dana to
make the transition period less confusing to dealers or fleet maintenance shops who, when installing the newer design
carriers also required the new longer design capscrews. This plan was effective and designed to run for one year (now
nearing a 2
nd full year) depending on the model change implementation dates and stock ramp up of service housing
hardware kits by OEM’s, Dealers and Warehouse Distributors.
Effective April 25
th , 2005 Service carriers built and shipped directly from Dana will no longer have these axle housing
hardware parts included with the carriers. For your reference shown below are Dana’s most popular axle housing
hardware kits for the models affected by this change.
NOTE: Service carriers produced after this date will have a copy of this bulletin inside the carrier box for the next 15 month so
customers don’t think they were shipped short the hardware.
