Navigation
Navigation Playback
This function is useful when you wish to quickly find out what
programmes you have recorded on a tape with this recorder. This
function allows you to select a programme to watch, and then
automatically searches for the start of the programme. (

Load a recorded cassette
Insert a cassette recorded on this recorder.

Access Main Menu screen
Press MENU.
C
Access Programme Navigation screen
Press PUSH JOG rt to place the pointer
next to “PROGRAMME NAVIGATION”,
then press OK or PUSH JOG e.
D
Select a programme
Press PUSH JOG rt to place the pointer
next to the programme you want to watch.
E
Start playback
Press OK. “SEARCHING” appears on the
TV screen. Playback begins automatically
after the selected programme is located.
NOTES:
● You cannot edit programme title or delete tape data for the
cassette with the record safety tab removed.
● Programme Navigation is possible with the cassettes recorded
with this recorder only.
● Before recording, make sure the recorder’s clock is set correctly.
● Program Navigation may not work properly depending on the
tape being used.
● To record the programme information in this recorder’s memory,
you must continue to record each programme for over the
minimum recording time;
PAL
8 minutes for the SP mode
15 minutes for the LP mode
23 minutes for the EP mode
NTSC
5 minutes for the SP mode
15 minutes for the EP mode
● You can store programme information for up to 8 programmes
on one cassette. At maximum informations for 10 tapes can be
restored.
● The programme information is stored in this recorder’s memory.
If the memory in this recorder should ever be damaged and the
programme information lost, it is impossible to restore that
information.
Edit programme title
You can edit the the programme titles as you like.

Select programme
Press PUSH JOG rt to place the pointer
next to the programme you want to edit.

Access title edit screen
Press the number key “1”. The Title Edit
screen appears.

Enter programme title
● Press the number keys and PUSH JOG e
to enter characters, then press OK. For
details, refer to “Entering character” on
page 14.
D
Return to normal screen
Press MENU.
Entering character
Press the appropriate number key, then press PUSH JOG e to
enter each character.
Refer to the example below.
NOTES:
● If you make a mistake, press PUSH JOG we to select the
character, then enter the correct character.
● If you want to delete a character, press PUSH JOG we to select
the character, then press .
Delete tape data
— Delete tape data
Press & for more than 3 second. All the
programme data on the tape are deleted,
then normal screen appears.
● It is impossible to delete each
programme information.
NOTE:
When you delete the tape data, only the tape information is
deleted from the recorder’s memory. The actual recording on the
tape is not erased.
Program Navigation
Turn on the TV and select the VIDEO channel (or AV mode).
