C losed Captioning (CC) lets you read the voice
content of TV programs on the TV screen.
Designed to help the hearing impaired, this feature
uses on-screen text boxes to show dialog and con-
versations during TV programming.
1 Press MENU to see the menu.
2 Press 8 or 9 until CC (Closed
Caption) is highlighted.
3 Press : to select the Closed Caption
option you want (CC-OFF, CC-1,
CC-2, or CC-MUTE). Dialog and
descriptions for the action on the TV
program will appear on the screen.
4 Or, you also can set Closed Captions by
pressing the CC button. Press CC
repeatedly to select: CC-OFF, CC-1,
CC-2, or CC-MUTE.
CC MUTE sets the TV to show Closed
Captions automatically when you press
the MUTE button. MUTE will appear on
the screen.The TV volume will be dis-
abled until you press MUTE again to
restore the sound.

The menu disappears when
you finish. Or, press STA-
TUS/EXIT to clear the
menu from the screen.
Not all TV programs and
commercials are broadcast
with Closed Caption infor-
mation. Neither are all
Closed Caption modes
transmitted by a station for
a closed caption program.
See your TV listings for the
stations and times of
Closed Caption shows.
