Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
The screen does not
respond How do I
reset the device?
1 Remove the batteries
2 Reinstall the batteries
NOTE: This does not erase any of your data or settings

Select > Setup > Reset > Reset All Settings
My device does not
acquire satellite
signals
1 Take your device out of buildings and parking
garages, and away from tall buildings and trees
2 Turn on the device
3 Remain stationary for several minutes
My device will not
charge
• Ensure that the lithium-ion battery pack is properly
installed ( page 2 )
• Ensure the temperature is between 32°F and 113°F
(from 0 to 45°C)
• Turn down the backlight ( page 6 )
My battery gauge does
not seem accurate
1 Leave the device on until the battery runs out
2 Fully charge the battery without interrupting the
charge cycle ( page 3 )
The batteries do not
last long
